(ANSA) – ROME, FEBRUARY 24 – “Life is beautiful even if it is not always like this. Life can undoubtedly appear difficult, hard to the point of cruelty, bitter to the point of getting acid in your stomach. But, in my opinion, it always allows us to learn ……… I live the present moment, I take only the positive. I breathe, I look around. The days of trade winds are beautiful, the cumulus clouds are low and variegated… .. “. These are the words taken from the latest book “The Soul in the Ocean” by Giancarlo Pedote, the solitary Tuscan navigator who recounts his 80 days at the Vendee Globe, a solo round the world sailing without stopover or assistance.

Today’s episode of “MAN AND THE SEA”, the RAI column edited and conducted by Giulio Guazzini, broadcast tonight at 22.40 on RaiSport + HD, is intended to be a sort of special entirely dedicated to the enterprise, to the life of the sailor Florentine protagonist of the solo sailing around the world.

Pedote, who recently presented his book in Rome, at the bookshop del Mare, tells about himself in a long interview, recalling his approach to the sea and sailing, the first regattas and the innate passion for offshore competitions.

Above all, an opportunity to discover the world of navigation and ocean racing behind the scenes, to assimilate through his words how much offshore sailing alone can be a punctual opportunity for knowledge and inner growth. (HANDLE).
