(ANSA-AFP) – ROME, MARCH 27 – ‘There is no heart problem’. This is the assurance of Canadian winger Alphonso Davies who hopes to return to the field with his Bayern Munich next month after recovering from Covid. The 21-year-old has been forced to stop since December after a diagnosis of myocarditis, an inflammation of the heart probably linked to his positivity to the Coronavirus in January. “I’m happy to be back. Rehabilitation is going well so far,” Davies told Bayern’s website. “I have no problems with my muscles and heart, but I’m not at 100 percent yet! I’m just happy to be able to train again. I’m ready for work.”

Bayern manager Julian Nagelsmann hopes Davies will be available for the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the return home match against Villarreal on 12 April. The first leg is in Spain on 5 April.

“I’m giving it my all. I’m working closely with the medical department and rehabilitation staff,” added Davies. “And I’m training very, very hard with and without the ball.” (ANSA-AFP).
