(ANSA) – FRIBURG, 02 APR – Bayern Munich won 4-1 at home to Freiburg and put 9 points between themselves and Borussia Dortmund, second, defeated on their field by Leipzig with the same score. But the Bavarians’ victory could be undermined by an ‘accident’.
The game was in fact interrupted for several minutes around 85, when the referee realized that Bayern had 12 players on the field due to a mistake during the substitutions. The violation of the rules lasted just about twenty seconds and was naturally recorded by the referee staff.
Bayern struggled more than the final result says to make the three points their own, passing only in the second half. Leon Goretzka (58 ‘), Serge Gnabry (73’), Kingsley Coman (82 ‘) and Marcel Sabitzer (90’) scored for the defending champions.
Nils Petersen drew 1-1 for Freiburg in the 63rd minute.
With six days remaining in the championship, Bayern are leading with 66 points, Dortmund have 57 points. Third are Leverkusen (51 points), who today won 2-1 at home against Hertha Berlin.
