(ANSA) – ROME, APRIL 16 – Stefanos Tsitsipas is in the final of the Masters 1000 in Monte-Carlo after beating the German Alexander Zverev 6-4, 6-2 in an hour and 15 ‘of play. The 23-year-old Greek, # 5 in the world, will defend the title tomorrow against the Spanish Alejandro Davidovich (22, # 46), in the first final of a tournament on the ATP circuit.
Tsitsipas had only finished a very tough quarter (2h43 ‘of play) against Diego Schwartzman at 11pm on Friday. In any case, he seemed fresher than Zverev, who in turn has returned from over three hours of fighting against Jannik Sinner. The German, n.3 in the ranking, today appeared tried, but above all mentally unloaded. In fact, he withstood the confrontation with Tsitsipas only in the first set, while in the second he resisted until 2-2 and then collapsed.
