At the age of 26, 9 months and 2 days, the Gangwon ‘proette’ celebrated her fifth career title on the LPGA Tour (figure including a Major, the Evian Championship in 2014), the top US women’s circuit, overtaking the Japanese Hinako Shibuno, second with 279 (-9) ahead of another South Korean, Hye-Jin Choi, third with 281 (-7).

On the Hoakalei Country Club course (par 72), at Ewa Beach on the island of Oahu, Giulia Molinaro (the only blue in the race) ranked 56 / a with 292 (74 73 72 73, +4). After having triumphed at the Chevron Championship (the first Major of 2022), she did not go beyond the 18th place with 287 (-1), the American Jennifer Kupcho.

So it’s a big party in Hawaii for Hyo Joo Kim, whose exploit has earned her $ 300,000 against a prize pool of 2,000,000. Leading from the second round, she completed the work after a last lap closed in 71 (-1), with three birdies (one of which was decisive at hole 18, the last of the day) and two bogeys.

In May 2021 she had won the HSBC Women’s Championship five years after her last success on the LPGA Tour. But her palmarès also includes 14 affirmations on the LPGA of Korea Tour and one on the LPGA of Japan Tour. (ANSA).
