Ioannis Filippatos was elected today at the Hotel Cenacolo di Santa Maria degli Angeli in Assisi on the occasion of the institution’s Ordinary Congress. Of the four presidential candidates, Boris Van der Vorst (Netherlands), Eyüp Gözgeç (Turkey), who withdrew the candidacy, Ioannis Filippatos (Greece) and Volodymyr Prodyvus (Ukraine), the challenge until the last vote saw Van Der protagonists Vorst (22 votes) and Filippatos (25 votes).
The members of the board of directors were also elected together with Filippatos, and the outgoing president Franco Falcinelli was elected Honorary President by acclamation.
