(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 13 – The PGA of America has announced that Phil Mickelson has decided to skip the PGA Championship. The San Diego southpaw, defending champion, will therefore not defend the title in the second male Major scheduled for May 19-22 in Tulsa (USA), Oklahoma.

It seemed all done for the return to the field of the Californian who, surprisingly, after being listed in the official field of the tournament, decided to cancel. A surprising news, after his triumph in 2021 which had seen him stand out as the oldest winner of a Major at the age of 50 years, 11 months and 7 days.

“We have just been informed that Mickelson has decided to skip the PGA Championship. It is a shame, we would have welcomed his participation.” This is the announcement of the PGA of America, with Mickelson now appearing ever closer to marrying the Arab Super League project. (HANDLE).
