Football: Zoff, ‘Italian referees take away the rhythm of football’

(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 16 – “We have the opportunity to return as protagonists to the World Cup, last year we won the European Championships. But the referees get used to the players badly, taking away the rhythm of the games with very fiscal interventions. We are not playing billiards”. Word of Dino Zoff, awarded a special career award 40 years after the historic victory of the 82 World Cup, during the delivery of the 11th National ‘Enzo Bearzot’ Award, by Acli, in the ceremony at the Coni hall of honor. Memories pass, and the former blue goalkeeper adds: “Image of my career kissing Bearzot? We are very close, but as Friulians these gestures are exaggerated. When we won the cup we went to heaven”. A joke about Buffon, who wants to play up to the age of 50: “When someone feels like playing and wants, if he feels like it he can continue. But then you can run into mistakes and you get some doubts”. (HANDLE).
