(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 17 – Until Monday 23 May the 5th edition of the Race for memory will take place, organized by Go Green, with the free patronage of the Giovanni and Francesca Falcone Foundation, Fidal and the Municipality of Palermo. Eleven days of racing everywhere, thanks to the virtual format, with a dedication to the 11 victims of the Capaci and via D’Amelio massacres (this year the 30th anniversary) and to all the victims of the mafia. The event is not just a sporting event: from the beginning the meaning was to enhance the memory, but also the example of the victims of the massacres. The virtual run, characterized by the hashtag #IOCISONO, is open to all those who wish to testify, in any part of the world, with their own race, their fidelity to these values. Values in the name of which Giovanni Falcone, his wife Francesca Morvillo and the members of the escort Rocco Dicillo, Antonio Montinaro, Vito Schifani lost their lives on 23 May 1992.
