Golf: Ladies Italian Open, eleven blue in the competition

(ANSA) – TURIN, MAY 25 – At the Margara Golf Club in Fubine Monferrato (Alessandria), for the 26th edition of the Ladies Italian Open, scheduled from 2 to 4 June and presented today in the “Sala Trasparenza” of the Piedmont Region, there will be eleven (against nine in 2021) the blue in the race. Among the big names Virginia Elena Carta (who made her professional debut one year ago in this tournament) and Roberta Liti (seventh and best Italian in 2021). And again: Stefania Croce (for her many years on the LPGA Tour), Erika De Martini and Martina Flori, in their first year as a proette. But there will also be six amateurs on the field: Benedetta Moresco (fourth this year at the Augusta National Women’s Amateur, the women’s Masters), Carolina Melgrati, Francesca Fiorellini, Alessandra Fanali, Caterina Don and Clara Manzalini. Absent, however, Giulia Molinaro (remained in the US in view of the next appointments of the LPGA Tour) and Lucrezia Colombotto Rosso (engaged on LET Access).

The blue dreams of the company in Piedmont; in 25 editions, so far no Italian has managed to establish itself in this tournament.

Four second places instead signed by Silvia Cavalleri (2000 and 2002), Veronica Zorzi (2005) and Giulia Sergas (2011). (HANDLE).
