(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 28 – Charles Leclerc, in a Ferrari, will start from pole position in the Monaco GP, the seventh round of the Formula 1 world championship. With a time of 1’11 ” 376, the Monegasque preceded his team mate team Carlos Sainz, for an all-Ferrari front row. Behind them the two Red Bulls, with Sergio Perez in front of Max Verstappen. In the third row Lando Norris (McLaren) and George Russell (Mercedes). The qualifications that saw Leclerc’s 14th career pole ended with a red flag due to a dangerous carom: Perez ended up on the guard rail before the tunnel and Sainz was unable to avoid it.
The ‘cap’ blocked all the other drivers in search of time, first of all Verstappen who narrowly avoided hitting the other two cars. The Q3 ranking sees Fernando Alonso (Alpine9) in seventh place, Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) in eighth, Sebastian Vettel (Aston Martin) in ninth and Estaban Ocon (Alpine) in tenth. (ANSA).
