Swimming, Paralympic World Championships: Pancalli “High Expectations”

(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 30 – “The Madeira World Championships bring us back onto the international stage: in Tokyo, swimming was the spearhead of the Italian expedition, with 39 medals out of 69. After the last Olympics, expectations are very high, I have a lot of faith in the athletes and in Roberto Valori, his Federation is made up of men and women who have shown that they work in unison “. This was stated by the president of the Cip, Luca Pancalli, at the presentation of the Paralympic Swimming World Championships, which will be held on the island of Madeira, in Portugal, from 12 to 18 June. At the headquarters of the Italian Paralympic Committee, Pancalli added: “A challenge awaits us, we need to demonstrate that we know how to manage the generational change. But with swimming I am always optimistic”. Over 700 athletes representing 70 nations are expected in Portugal. The blues called up are 23 (14 boys, 9 girls) and are veterans of the collegiate organized at the Scandone swimming pool in Naples and at the Portici sports center. (HANDLE).
