Chelsea are no longer Roman Abramovich: the transfer of ownership to the consortium led by Todd Boehly, president and CEO of Eldridge, and Clearlake Capital Group, has in fact concluded, as announced on its website, and which includes also Hansjörg Wyss, founder of the Wyss Foundation, and Mark Walter, co-founder and CEO of Guggenheim Capital. Walter and Boehly are the owners of the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Sparks.
The change of ownership received all the OK from the British government, the Premier and the financial authorities. Under the terms of the agreement, Boehly and Clearlake will share equal governance, with Boehly as president of the holding, nce of the Club. The new owners “are committed to investing in key areas to improve the competitiveness” of Chelsea.
