Sassari’s verve and hopes in game 3 of the semifinal against Milan lasted 10 minutes.
Olimpia too strong, who in this evening’s match goes to PalaSerradimigni with the result of 69-87, wins the series 3-0 and flies to the championship final where Virtus Bologna is waiting for them.
The Sassari are doing their best to try to extend the series: they immediately put the guests in difficulty with a 16-8 sprint start, but it is really a flash in the pan. Milan remains stuck and after having closed the first quarter down by 2 (19-17), between the second and third quarter it demolishes the resistance of Dinamo basket after basket.
At the beginning of the last portion of the game the scoreboard says 53-71 for Olimpia, eighteen points ahead of them who already know they are winning. Eighteen points which will also be the final gap of the umpteenth playoff match between Sassari and Milan. Dinamo once again missed the points of David Logan (only a 2-pointer for the “professor”) and Jason Burnell, while Bilan (12 points and 10 rebounds) and Robinson (14 points) had their say. Bendzius, Mvp of the biancoblu season, affects less than usual and writes only 11 points on the scoresheet. But against an Olimpia of this level there is very little to complain about.
Very long roster and many champions ready to enter the court and play as protagonists. The best in the field was Baldasso, with 17 points and a lot of class. Dinamo’s season ends here, with honor and without regrets. For Milan there is still a final to play, the final for the Scudetto against the outgoing champions of Virtus Bologna.
