F1: in Baku Leclerc seeks redemption

(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 09 – From one street circuit to another, from that of Montecarlo to that of Baku. The Formula 1 World Championship stops in Azerbaijan and, at least to see the Snai odds, there seem to be all the conditions for yet another head-to-head between Max Verstappen – leader of the drivers’ classification with 125 points – and Charles Leclerc, just behind 116 but he hasn’t won in four races. The Dutchman’s return to success has the lowest bid (2.25), followed by that for the Monegasque triumph at 2.50. Sergio Perez’s encore, first under the finish line in the Principality, is worth 6.50, in a Grand Prix that since its introduction in the calendar has never seen the same winner twice and which, among other things, last year saw the success of the Mexican driver. Leclerc starts behind Verstappen in the odds for Sunday’s success, but in the lead both in free practice (2.00, with the Dutchman at 2.75) and in qualifying, even if the gap is smaller: pole Charles’s at 2.00, Max’s at 2.25, with Sainz leading the way at 7.50. After the Monaco GP, the ante-post odds for the winner of the Formula 1 World Championship have not changed. Verstappen leads at 1.65, with Leclerc just behind at 2.25. On the other hand, the gap with the pursuers widened: Russell rose from 12 to 15, with Perez to 20 and Hamilton to 25. In the Constructors’ World Championship, Red Bull at 1.65 and Ferrari at 2.10: Mercedes collapses to 10. (HANDLE).
