“The quality of the players is rising and we also see it in the youth national teams. Compared to 3-4 years ago the growth is incredible and this is thanks to the work that the clubs are doing. So the quality of the whole movement is rising further. but we still have to grow, as the data tell us. We are in a mid-range, and we need to take a step towards the top. ” Thus the coach of the women’s national team, Milena Bertolini, from Coverciano takes stock of the situation in view of the European Championships (6-31 July in England).
“I’m curious to see the level of our national team when the important races start – she adds – because I see the girls working hard to get to the top. It will be an important competition and I’m not worried, then obviously I hope that everyone is well”.
