Last test game – volleys defeat the Netzhoppers
The Berlin Volleys are prepared for the volleyball Supercup against the United Volleys Frankfurt on Saturday in Schwerin. In the last test match before the emergency the German champions defeated the Brandenburg Bundesliga rivals Netzhoppers KW-Bestensee on Wednesday in the Horst-Korber-Center with 3: 1 (24:26, 25:20, 26:24, 15:11). The volleys kicked without middle blocker Anton Brehme and the two outside attackers Timothee Carle and Samuel Tuia at. All three players are currently injured or at least battered and will not be available for the Supercup on Saturday.
The Netzhoppers turned out to be over long distances in the one and a half hour match uncomfortable opponent. Especially her newcomer Brandon Rattray in the diagonal position caused big problems for the opponent. The American, who played for Arenal Emeve in Spain last season, scored 18 points alone.
The best attacker in the BR Volleys was Ruben Schott with 13 points, followed by Jeffrey Jendryk and Benjamin Patch (11 each). For the Berliners it was the tenth win in the tenth preparation game for the new season. They rehearsed four times against the Netzhoppers, who each had to be content with winning a set. (dpa)
