Nations League women: third victory for Italy

(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 17 – Third consecutive success for the blue in the Nations League Volleyball Pool 3 underway in Brasilia. Fresh from the tiebreak success with the Dominican Republic, Italy beat Germany 3-0 (25-19; 25-22; 27-25) not even 24 hours after the long match on the pitch with the Dominicans. A very precious success for the reigning European champions, driven by a super Egonu (22 points), in the running for a place in the Final 8 scheduled for July in Ankara.

“Today things worked better by approaching the match well – said the coach, Davide Mazzanti -, the legs turned better and the game was on another level. We have achieved three victories which are fundamental for us.” Tomorrow the blue will close the Brasilia pool facing the hosts, in a challenge expected in the capital that will attract about ten thousand spectators to the Nilsen Nelson Arena.

“We will face Brazil in a pit, making the atmosphere on the pitch special. It will be a wonderful match to play in a stadium where even as an opponent you are respected and applauded”, commented the coach. (HANDLE).
