Fifa: project on talent, there is the yes of 117 federations

(ANSA) – ROME, June 20 – Out of 211 total, 117 federations affiliated to FIFA have applied to access the ‘Talent development scheme’, a program designed to develop football talent in every corner of the world. What Fifa summarizes as Tds, offers assistance to federations to reach their full potential and pursues the measures taken to reduce the disparity in the level of football between different regions of the world. The window for submitting applications closes on June 30 and so far among the 117 who have applied there are world champions such as Germany and Argentina, but also smaller federations such as Guam and Barbados.

“Fifa’s goal is to organize competitions, but not only. It is also to exploit experience to improve this sport, to ensure that it is played by more people, but also at a better level”, said the Fifa technical director Steven Martens. One of the pillars of the TDS is the exchange of knowledge. For this reason, in recent weeks, affiliated federations from Europe, Africa and Oceania have been brought together thanks to this project, with the aim of exchanging their views on supporting the development of young people and discussing shared challenges. “A stimulating scheme,” said Roberto Martinez, Belgium coach. “An incredible job that will bring clear benefits to all the associations but also to football in general.” (HANDLE).
