The path of the new Italy coach, Gianmarco Pozzecco, at the helm of the national basketball team, started today. The coach, together with the new technical staff, directed the first training session for Azzurro at the Allianz Dome in Trieste.

The goal – said Pozzecco – is to train hard to be ready to face European champion Slovenia and the Netherlands for qualification for the 2023 World Cup.

Achille Polonara will join his team mates in Trieste from next Wednesday. Training will continue until Friday 24 June, the eve of the friendly match against Slovenia, the first match of the new management.
