F1: Red Bull suspends test driver Vips for racist comments

(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 22 – An online game that cost Juri Vips dearly. The Estonian driver, who is part of Red Bull’s junior facility, was suspended with immediate effect from Christian Horner’s team for using racist and homophobic language during a game of the Call of Duty video game, which was broadcast live on the Twitch platform.

“Red Bull Racing has suspended junior driver Juri Vips from all team duties with immediate effect, pending a full investigation into the accident,” reads a tweet. The Austrian team recalled that “as an organization” they have “a zero tolerance policy for racist language or behavior”.

The 21-year-old, in addition to being a Red Bull test driver, also competes in Formula 2 with the HItech Gran Prix team.
