(ANSA) – LONDON, JUN 24 – The draw for the composition of the scoreboards of the 135th edition of the Championships took place this morning: the reigning champion Novak Djokovic, six times winner of Wimbledon, will make his debut at the Central team on Monday against the Korean Soonwoo Kwon, # 75 in the world. A comfortable debut also for Rafa Nadal, second favorite on the London lawns, opposed in the first round against the Argentine Francisco Cerundolo.
Fresh from two consecutive triumphs on the grass, the 2021 finalist Matteo Berrettini, favorite 8 and drawn in the lower part of the board (and any crossing with Djokovic would only be in the final) begins his run on the All England grass Club against 26 year old Chilean Cristian Garin. Decidedly more insidious the first of Jannik Sinner, favorite n.10: his first opponent will be the 37-year-old Swiss Stanislas Wawrinka. (HANDLE).
