Sailing, Orc World Championship: near From Now On, Irony and Scugnizza

(ANSA) – ROME, 27 JUN – From Now On (Class A), Irony (Class B) and Scugnizza (Class C) won, with the corrected time, in three different classes the first round of the ORC World Sailing Championship, organized by the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda and the Offshore Racing Congress, staged in Porto Cervo. The fleet, divided into three routes for each of the three classes (171.87, 152., 83 and 138 miles for groups A, B and C), crossed the Maddalena Archipelago and then returned to Porto Cervo. The first boat to cross the finish line, after 22h42 ‘, was the Tp52 Beau Geste but, when calculating the compensated time, the first three places in Class A are occupied by as many Swan 45s: the Argentine From Now On of Fernando Chain, Blue Sky by Claudio Terrieri and Tengher by Alberto Magnani. Two yachts from Romania lead in Class B: in first place the First 40.7 Irony, followed by the Grand Soleil 44 Essentia. In Class C there was a race in the regatta, with four IY 11.98 battling each other at the top, in particular the Italian Scugnizza and the Estonian Sugar 3, followed by Batanga in third place and ToBe in fourth.
