(ANSA) – ROME, JUN 27 – Ten commercials and a documentary on women’s football to communicate and tell the story and stories of an increasingly growing movement, the Azzurre matches live on Rai 1 and many insights signed by the editorial staff of RaiSport: the state TV program for the National Women’s team expected at the European Championship in England, scheduled for July, is really rich and will allow the protagonists of the Italian expedition to be better known to the general public.

In these days, ten personal portraits of some columns of the national team such as Sara Gama, Laura Giuliani, Barbara Bonansea and Cristiana Girelli, of the coach Milena Bertolini and of the head of the blue delegation Cristiana Capotondi are already on the air.

Inclusion and prejudices, sacrifice and equal opportunities, meritocracy and the desire to win: these are some of the key words that are heard, together with the awareness of representing a generation that will remain in history for having brought Italy back to the World Cup after twenty years of absence, and for having conquered the epochal transition to professionalism that the women’s Serie A will experience from next season.

Important issues, which Rai has decided to celebrate with a documentary, broadcast on 10 July at 18.50 on Rai 2, entitled “Azzurro Shocking, how women have taken back football.” The story, created in collaboration with the FIGC on the wave of the success of the “Sogno Azzurro” docuserie that accompanied the men’s national team in the triumphal journey of Euro 2020, will go back over 100 years, to the first attempts to give life to teams and championships women, to retrace the long period in which women’s football was denied and opposed.

Finally, RAI has decided to broadcast all the matches of the Women’s National Team to the European Championship on RAI 1 (commentary by Katia Serra, Luca De Capitani and Gianluigi Zamponi) and from England the RaiSport team led by Donatella Scarnati will produce extensive daily insights for all the RAI news programs as well as the specials on RaiSport.
