Tour: the start from Denmark, everyone against Pogacar

(ANSA) – ROME, JUL 01 – The 109th edition of the Tour de France starts today from Copenhagen with an absolute favorite like Tadej Pogacar. The Slovenian phenomenon, only 23 years old, is hunting for the legends of the Grande Boucle as he is aiming decisively for the third consecutive success in the race. Before him, only phenomena of the caliber of Bobet, Anquetil, Merckx, Indurain and Froome have succeeded. Pogacar is looking for opponents so much so that Sisal experts foresee an easy set of three for him given the 1.67 odds. There are two major pitfalls that could come to the Komenda rider. The first responds to the name of Jonas Vingegaard, second last year just behind Pogacar, and eager to take revenge on the Tour. The Dane would like to showcase the first major success of his career, but is aware that to defeat the Slovenian there will be need a firm, hypothesis offered at 5.00. The other danger is represented by Primož Roglič, compatriot of Pogacar, and second in Paris in 2020 after having cradled the dream of victory which vanished only in the last individual time trial.

Dominator of the Vuelta for three years, Roglič, at 33, wants to try to give himself yet another feat of a career full of satisfactions and successes. Parade under the Arc de Triomphe wearing the yellow jersey will not be easy, but the Slovenian has all the credentials to try so much that his triumph is played at 6.00. Italy must pursue and another complex Tour de France is expected for the Italian cyclists. Damiano Caruso will try to put all his determination on the road, trying to find the form of 2021 that allowed him to finish second in the Giro d’Italia. Our colors have not triumphed since 2014 when Vincenzo Nibali prevailed: Caruso’s triumph would pay the post 66 times. (HANDLE).
