(ANSA) – ROME, JUL 01 – Novak Djokovic had no regard for his teammate in the Davis Cup, Miomir Kecmanovic, who he eliminated with a score of 6-0, 6-3, 6-4.
“I started very, very well, with a lot of intensity”, remarked with satisfaction the Serbian, number 3 in the world, who thus signed his 330th victory in the Grand Slam circuit. In the next round of Wimbledon he will face the surprising Dutchman Tim van Rijthoven (104th), in his first Grand Slam tournament. “I am playing better and better as the tournament progresses. I know I can always do better, but so far so good,” said Djokovic. At 35, he is aiming for the fourth consecutive title at Wimbledon. Better than him only Pete Sampras, Björn Borg and Roger Federer, who have lined up even five of them. (HANDLE).
