Spezia, Wednesday will be the day of Caldara and Ekdal

(ANSA) – LA SPEZIA, 11 JUL – La Spezia is ready to close the first two purchases to be entrusted to the new coach Luca Gotti. These are the defender Mattia Caldara and the midfielder Albin Ekdal. Caldara, 28, will come from Milan on loan with the right of redemption set at 3 million euros in favor of the Ligurian club. The Swede, 33 years old in a few days, has instead been released since June 30th after having seen his contract with Sampdoria expire and will sign a two-year contract.

Both are expected in the city on Wednesday to complete the formalities and, at the end of the medical examinations and the signing of the contract, they should join the new companions in the retreat in Santa Cristina Valgardena (Bolzano).

The next moves of the technical director Riccardo Pecini should concern the disposals of the midfielder Giulio Maggiore to Turin and the goalkeeper Ivan Provedel to Lazio. La Spezia expects to collect around 10 million euros from the two operations. As for Provedel, part of the proceeds will go to Empoli, from which the Ligurian club had taken the player in 2020. To replace them, the goals are Karol Linetty of Turin and Wladimiro Falcone of Sampdoria. (HANDLE).
