(ANSA) – ROME, JULY 12 – For the first time an Italian national team will play with the rainbow logo on its shirts. To do so will be the blues, men and women, of volleyball, according to what Fipav says by revealing that the president of the federation Giuseppe Manfredi, the CEO of the Dhl sponsor Nazzarena Franco, together with the captain of the men’s national team Simone Giannelli, have delivered the shirt of the national team with the Rainbow logo to the Minister for Equal Opportunities and the Family, Elena Bonetti. Fipav also underlines that it is “a unique opportunity to launch an important message of inclusion, which the federation and the sponsor want to convey in a strong and decisive way, for a world without barriers, neither physical nor mental, to go beyond any diversity”.
Coach Mazzanti’s girls will take to the pitch for the first time with the rainbow logo on their shirt on Thursday in Ankara, in the Nations League match against China, while De Giorgi’s boys will do it in Bologna, on the occasion of the Nations League Finals: first match on 20 July against Holland.
The initiative will be repeated on the occasion of the international tournaments that will be held in Italy, in Cuneo and Naples.
