(ANSA) – ROME, JULY 12 – “I have wonderful memories of my triumph at The Open in 2018. It was an apotheosis”. Francesco Molinari, in an interview with ANSA and two days before the start of the 150th edition of the oldest major in golf, scheduled at the Old Course in St. Andrews, retraces the joy experienced four years ago in Carnoustie, Scotland. With no successes since March 2019, the Turin-born is looking for the turning point in the tournament that made him great. “I lack a bit of confidence – he explains – and also on a technical level I’m not at the top”. In the cradle of golf, St. Andrews, Molinari also finds his idol: Woods. “Tiger is golf. Nobody can exclude him from the list of possible winners, but he comes from a complicated period with a terrible leg injury.” Then on the Superlega that is dividing the green. “Enough animosity, let’s just talk about golf being played. Never before have there been so many tensions”. (HANDLE).
