(ANSA) – GENEVA, JUL 19 – The Swiss Federal Prosecutor has announced its intention to challenge the acquittal of Sepp Blatter and Michel Platini’s allegation of fraud against Fifa, dating back to July 8, by the Federal Criminal Court of Bellinzona. The Public Prosecutor of the Confederation confirmed to the ATS-Keystone agency that last Friday, July 15, it had expressed its intention to challenge the acquittal of the former French football star who led UEFA before the outbreak of the case and of the one who he has long been president of FIFA.
The Federal Criminal Court must justify its ruling in writing, which can take some time. It will then be taken into consideration by the Public Prosecutor of the Confederation, who will decide whether to maintain the appeal or withdraw it. (HANDLE).
