Tour: Vingegaard sees closer triumph, but Pogacar doesn’t give up

(ANSA) – ROME, JUL 19 – Six days to the end of the Tour de France 2022 and the fight for the final success seems to have been restricted to two men with a third lurking ready, if the opportunity arises, to take advantage of the débâcle of the favorite couple.

Jonas Vingegaard, current leader of the classification, sees the goal of his first great career success ever closer.

The Danish cyclist is in a state of exceptional psychophysical form and, after the feat on the Galibier, he wants to take the yellow jersey to Paris. Sisal experts indicate Vingegaard as a huge favorite so much so that the triumph is offered at 1.57.

Those who continue to believe it is Tadej Pogacar, winner of the last two editions of the Tour de France, and currently separated by more than two minutes from the Danish leader. The Slovenian is waiting for the right opportunity to take back that yellow jersey and bring home a dream three of a kind. Pogacar’s hat-trick is played at 2.50.

The third inconvenience is still the British Geraint Thomas, who should perform a real miracle to repeat the success of 2018 at the Grande Boucle. The Cardiff native cyclist, despite the 36 springs on his shoulders, wants to try to play his chances until the end and his victory would pay the stakes 16 times. (HANDLE).
