(ANSA) – EUGENE, JUL 19 – Four other members of the Japanese delegation at the World Athletics Championships, including sprinter Yuki Koike, tested positive for Covid, bringing the number of members of this representation infected by the virus to 15. announced the Japanese federation.
Among these four new cases there are a technician and three athletes, including Koike – bronze medal in the 4x100m at the 2019 World Championships – forced to give up the 200 meters. The 11 previous cases, announced between last weekend and yesterday, involved three marathon runners, the head coach of the Japanese team, three coaches and four staff members. These 15 people must observe a five-day isolation period.
