Bayern professional Hernández is apparently threatened with imprisonment

Lucas Hernández, soccer professional at FC Bayern Munich since 2019, is threatened with imprisonment according to Spanish and German media reports. Hernández is said to have appealed this decision.

According to a court order, the Frenchman has to appear before the Madrid criminal court on October 19, 2021 in order to be summoned in person, as reported by the Munich-based “tz”. Hernández must then voluntarily go to a correctional facility of his choice within ten days.

The background is the “violation of a judgment or an injunction”, as the “tz” writes. In February 2017, when Hernández was still playing for Atletico Madrid, the court had issued a ban on approach and contact with his wife. Apparently this was preceded by fistfights on the public street. Hernández is said to have been drunk at the time.

The couple is said to have reconciled afterwards – but the ban on contact and approach still applied. Also when the two flew on their honeymoon shortly afterwards. On his return, Hernández is said to have been arrested in Madrid, but was released shortly afterwards. Three years later, the case is catching up with him again. (Tsp)
