(ANSA) – RIO DE JANEIRO, JUL 30 – The ‘City Football Group’, holding company headed by Manchester City’s owner Manṣūr bin Zāyed Al Nahyan and which recently, in Italy, acquired control of the newly promoted Palermo in Serie B , also lands in Brazil.

According to reports from the Rete Globo networks, in August it will be announced that the City Group will become part of the ownership of Bahia, a club currently in third place, on par with Gremio, in the Brazilian Serie B. In command is Cruzeiro who belongs to Ronaldo Fenomeno, second is Vasco da Gama who is instead of 777 Partners, the American fund that owns Genoa in Italy.

As for Sheikh Mansour, Bahia will be the twelfth club in which he will become a shareholder. For now he owns, with percentages ranging from 100% of the shares of Manchester City to 20% of the Japanese Yokohama Marinos, ten football clubs which are Manchester City in the Premier League, New York City in the North American MLS, Melbourne City in Australia, Yokohama Marinos in the Japanese J-League, newly promoted Girona in La Liga, Montevideo City Torque in Uruguay, Sichuan Jiuniu in the Chinese Super League, Mumbai City in India, Troyes in France, Lommel in Belgium and Palermo in Serie Italian B. In addition, there is a partnership relationship with Club Bolivar, which involves one of the members of the City Group, namely Marcelo Claure, who is also a partner of David Beckham in Inter Miami.

As for the Bahia, the hope of the Sheikh is that ‘O Esquadrao’ will return to the top flight as soon as possible, after which an impressive strengthening campaign will start. But first we need promotion to Serie A, and in the meantime the new ownership will guarantee that Davò, the team’s bomber and darling of the ‘torcida’, will not be sold. (HANDLE).
