Champions: Shakhtar Donetsk will play in Warsaw

(ANSA) – ROME, AUGUST 01 – Shakhtar Donetsk will play the home games of the 2022/23 Champions League group stage in Warsaw. The Ukrainian club will train in the sports center of Legia Warsaw, then play at ‘home’ on the pitch of Marshall Józef Piłsudski’s Municipal Stadium.

The agreement with the Polish leaders covers the period between August and November.

Tomorrow, meanwhile, 10 first leg matches will be played in the third qualifying round of the group stage of the top European tournament. Eyes on Louis II of Monte Carlo, where Monaco will face the Dutch of PSV Eindhoven coached by former striker Ruud Van Nistelrooij. Wednesday will be the turn of the Red Star Belgrade which, at 20.45, will host the Armenians of Pyunik Yerevan. Returning to tomorrow, Dinamo Kiev will also play in Poland, which will host the Austrians of Sturm Graz: appointment on the ground of the Stadion Miejski in Lodz. These are the other matches: Sheriff Tiraspol-Viktoria Plzen, Ludogorets-Dinamo Zagreb, Union St. Gilloise-Rangers, Benfica-Midtjylland, Qarabag-Ferencvaros, Bodoe Glimt-Zalgiris, Maccabi Haifa-Apollon Limassol. The second leg of the third qualifying round will be played on Tuesday 9 August.
