(ANSA) – ROME, AUGUST 02 – The meeting of the national basketball team in view of the European Championships begins tomorrow in Pinzolo (Trento), an appointment preceded by a double friendly match with France (in Bologna on August 12 and in Montpellier on 16). Hamburg (19 and 20 August), and the two qualifying matches for the 2023 World Cup (24 August against Ukraine, 27 with Georgia).
An August full of commitments for the national team led by Gianmarco Pozzecco, which on September 1st will face Estonia in Assago (Milan) in the first challenge of the 41st edition of the continental review. In group C hosted by the Lombard capital there are also Greece of Antetokounmpo, Croatia, Ukraine and Great Britain, with the first four who will be admitted to the round of 16 that open the phase of knockout matches.
In Milan, on the same day, the Fan Zone of EuroBasket 2022 will be inaugurated in Piazza Duomo, an arena of over 1,300 square meters that will welcome basketball fans with a multitude of shows and entertainment, united by the theme of the ball in wedges.
From 1 to 8 September, closing day, the organized Fan Zone will be open from 10 to 20.00, with a dense lineup of collateral events (ANSA).
