(ANSA) – ROME, AUGUST 04 – Bebe Vio is the winner of the 10 / o Mecenate dello Sport-Varaldo Di Pietro award. The recognition, promoted by the Varaldo Di Pietro Foundation, chaired by Giovanni Di Pietro, rewards those who, nationally and internationally, provide an essential contribution to the growth of sport and the exaltation of its values, also through activities of social value and supportive. Bebe Vio is one of the most important international testimonials of the highest values ​​of sport, also through the creation – with the art4sport association founded with the parents – of the WEmbrace movement and the realization of the WEmbrace Games and WEmbrace Sport events to support the Paralympic sport, in addition to the creation of the ‘Bebe Vio Academy’, an inclusive program that promotes integrated sport.

This mission was reinforced by the beautiful story of friendship that saw Bebe Vio protagonist together with the champion, Martin Castrogiovanni. The well-known blue rugby player was at Bebe’s side every day for months, carrying her in her arms and on her shoulders, in order to allow her rehabilitation movements after the recent surgeries. A moving story that represents the exemplary confirmation of the strength of sport and its values. Bebe Vio has achieved extraordinary successes that have led her to be world and European champion in individual foil, as well as twice gold at the Olympics (Rio and Tokyo). “Bebe has been able to make sporting activity a testimony to spread international knowledge of Paralympic sport and the great values ​​that sport embodies – says Di Pietro -. The award ceremony, which enjoys the patronage of Coni and the National Order of Journalists, will take place on 30 September in Rome, in the Coni Hall of Honor.
