Cagliari beat Perugia 3-2 in the Unipol Domus and reached the round of 32 of the Italian Football Cup. The home team immediately took the lead in the second minute with a header from Altare, from a corner kicked by Viola. Perugia, however, is still there and in the 32nd minute equalized with a nice diagonal by the former Melchiorri, on an assist from Kouan. In the second half, the Umbrians even took the lead in the 23rd minute with a nice counterattack led by Kouan and then, thanks to Melchiorri’s finish, Di Serio finished on the net.
Cagliari trembles, but readjusted the game with a penalty scored in the 35th minute by Lapadula and granted for Vulikic’s landing in the Luvumbo area. At 38 ‘Melchiorri hits the crossbar with a splendid shot on the fly, but at 44’ the winning goal arrives from Viola, on a free kick from the edge that bags under seven.
