(ANSA) – ROME, AUGUST 11 – There are three defections in the blue team that next week will participate in the European Athletics Championships scheduled from Monday 15 to Sunday 21 August. The Olympic long jump finalist Filippo Randazzo will not be part of the Italian team, held back by a muscle discomfort he felt last Saturday during the first jump of the race in Chorzow, Poland. The other two waivers are female: the U23 European silver of the 10,000 meters Anna Arnaudo and the walker Nicole Colombi, who had been called up for the 35 km race, will not start.
The number of Italian athletes leaving for Germany therefore drops to 98, for a participation that in any case remains the largest in the history of the Azzurri at the European Championships.
On Saturday the take-off of the first group of athletes, anticipated in recent days, as known, by the departure of the Olympic champion of 100 Marcell Jacobs. (HANDLE).
