(ANSA) – ROME, AUG 12 – Second day in Rome for the European swimming championships and the morning heats begin with the 50 breaststroke women who see Silvia Di Pietro (also engaged in the 100m final in the afternoon) and Costanza Cocconcelli semifinal; however, Elena Di Liddo remains out. Semifinal won in the 100 breaststroke for Benedetta Pilato, with the best time, and Lisa Angiolini. Out Arianna Castiglioni and Martina Carraro, respectively with the third and fourth time, but eliminated for the limit of athletes per nation (maximum 2).

In the 100 freestyle Alessandro Miressi and Lorenzo Zazzeri respond to the Romanian David Popovici and qualify for the men’s semifinals this afternoon, while Thomas Ceccon and Manuel Frigo are eliminated. Sixth time and pass for the final tonight detached for Italy in the mixed 4×100 with the relay composed by Michele Lamberti, Francesca Fangio, Ilaria Bianchi, Leonardo Deplano.
