(ANSA) – MILAN, 12 AUGUST – On the occasion of the 1st and 2nd Matchday of the Serie A TIM 2022/2023, the Lega Serie A campaign against audiovisual piracy will be promoted on all fields, “a criminal phenomenon that only in the last year has subtracted a turnover of 1.7 billion euros from all Italian economic sectors “.

This is what we read in a note from the Lega Serie A which reports the data from the FAPAV / Ipsos survey of 2021: 315 million is the overall estimate of acts of piracy among the adult population; 716 million euros the potential damage on the Italian economy in terms of GDP; 9,400 the potential estimate of jobs at risk; 51% the overall incidence among the under 15s.

Lega Serie A will promote its campaign #STOPIRACY – PIRACY KILLS FOOTBALL, broadcasting the video spot of the initiative on the big screens of the stadiums, while a dedicated television graphics will be broadcast at the time of the draw of the field between the two Captains.

“Unfortunately, in Italy the thought is still widespread that watching matches stealing images is a trick and not a crime that damages the football system and the whole country, stealing huge resources and causing the loss of almost 10 thousand jobs.

Piracy kills football is not just a slogan, but a serious reminder to all the consciences of those who love football “, declared the CEO of Lega Serie A, Luigi De Siervo. (ANSA).
