(ANSA) – ROME, AUGUST 12 – The Serie B League supports the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) in its work to achieve rural economies open to all, sustainable and free from hunger and poverty, proving once again to be active and sensitive to issues of a beneficial, territorial nature and health protection. IFAD is an international financial institution, as well as a specialized agency of the UN, with its world headquarters in Rome. The Fund is the only global organization dedicated to transforming agriculture, the rural economy and food systems through public and private investments, promoting agricultural innovation and dialogue between the different actors involved in rural development.
The LNPB-IFAD collaboration is the first consequence of the transformation that took place in recent weeks by the new social platform of the LNPB which will be presented shortly and which has converted “B Solidale”, the parent project linked to social responsibility, from a non-profit trust into a third sector. Thanks to this formula, it will be possible to act even more effectively towards the activities that the LNPB will implement together with IFAD.
Since 1978, IFAD has allocated more than $ 23 billion in low-interest grants and loans to finance projects in developing countries: last year alone, some 130 million people benefited. (HANDLE).
