European swimming: Italy in the final in the 4×100 sl

(ANSA) – ROME, AUGUST 14 – Fourth day of the European swimming championships in Rome and the first heats are the preliminary heats in the 200 freestyle that see the new record holder in the 100 sl David Popovici in the pool. No problem for him and Milak who enter the semifinals together with the two Italians Marco De Tullio and Stefano Di Cola. In the men’s 50 backstroke Thomas Ceccon wins the penultimate heat with 24 ″ 69, ahead of Michele Lamberti, both qualified, while Simone Stefanì and Lorenzo Mora remain out.

The Italians in the 4×100 sl who qualify with the second time in the final this afternoon are also starting well. Better than Alessandro Bori, Filippo Megli, Leonardo Deplano and Manuel Frigo is only the Hungarian team led by Milak. In women, however, Ilaria Bianchi and Elena Di Liddo reach the semifinals in the 100 butterfly, eliminated Costanza Cocconcelli and Antonella Crispino. In the 200 breaststroke women ok Francesca Fangio and Martina Carraro, respectively with the second and third time of the heats.

Simona Quadarella closes in the morning, winning her own battery in the 1500s and taking off the pass for the afternoon semifinals, together with Martina Caramignoli. (HANDLE).
