(ANSA) – MUNICH, AUGUST 16 – In Monaco the second day of the European beach volleyball championships in Monaco, and for Italy it was immediately derby. In fact, in the women’s field Marta Menegatti and Valentina Gottardi faced, and beaten, the other blue couple formed by Reka Orsi-Toth and Sara Breidenbach. 2-1 (17-21, 21-12, 15-12) the final result, at the end of a long battle.
By virtue of this success Menegatti and Gottardi will face the hosts Borger-Sude tomorrow at 3 pm, for the first place in pool F, who came out as winners from the match against the Ukrainian Baieva-Lazarenko for 2-0 (21-17, 24- 22). Orsi Toth and Breidenbach, on the other hand, will always challenge the Ukrainians tomorrow, for the passage to the first round of direct elimination.
In the men’s field, an all-Italian challenge between Enrico Rossi and Adrian Carambula and Davide Benzi and Carlo Bonifazi. Rossi-Carambula won the match with the result of 2-0 (21-12, 24-22). Paolo Nicolai and Samuele Cottafava instead beat Czechs Jakub Sepka and Tomas Semerad 2-0 (21-15, 21-16).
It did not go well for Daniele Lupo and Alex Ranghieri, beaten 2-0 (21-13, 21-16) by the Swiss Marco Krattiger and Florian Breer.
