Clay shooting: Europeans; Italy does not summon Pellielo

(ANSA) – ROME, AUG 20 – There is no blue veteran, and multiple Olympic medalists (3 silvers and a bronze), Giovanni Pellielo in the squad list of the Olympic pit squad for the European shooting championships in Larnaca from 24 August to September 12.

That of coach Albano Pera is a technical choice, as if to say that the 52-year-old Pellielo was not enough to win the Green Cup (in practice, the Italian Open of this discipline) just over a month ago in Umbria, and to have revealed one state of form that would allow him to do very well in Cyprus. But Pera, who already suffered criticism for not having chosen Pellielo at the Tokyo Games, preferred to call Mauro De Filippis, Daniele Resca and Giovanni Ferrari. Jessica Rossi, Silvana Stanco and Giulia Grassi have been called up for the women’s race.

All these shooters in these days will train, together with the coach and the athletic trainer Fabio Partigiani, at the Tav Concaverde in Lonato del Garda.

Meanwhile, the president of Fitav Luciano Rossi has confirmed that he is a candidate for the presidential elections of the world shooting federation, Issf. He did so also in 2018, when he was beaten for a handful of votes by the Russian oligarch (with a Cypriot passport) Vladimir Lisin, still in office and who in turn will stand for election. The elections of the World Shooting Federation will be held on November 30 in the Egyptian resort of Sharm El-Sheikh. (HANDLE).
