(ANSA) – ROME, AUGUST 24 – When Formula 1 made a stop at the legendary Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium in 2021, Max Verstappen took pole position and victory despite some of the worst track conditions for rain in history of motorsport. With the return to Belgium on Sunday 28 August, the Oracle Red Bull Racing driver is ready for any conditions on one of the most iconic tracks of the circus. And so the team engineers set to work to upgrade the simulator and allow Verstappen to be able to run wild through various scenarios.

“From Sim to Reality”, this is the name of the project, in fact, takes the current F1 world champion on a trip to Belgium with real driving challenges full of obstacles and surprises. The ‘flying’ Dutchman will be ready for anything: from tackling the iconic Spa-Francorchamps Raidillon variant to literally explosive off-road races, from a multiplayer session with some of Belgium’s best off-road drivers to a showdown with Wout van Aert, the cyclist winner of the Green Jersey at the Tour de France. “I love Spa-Francorchamps, it’s one of my favorite tracks – said Verstappen – I was born in Belgium, so it’s always special to come back here. Last Belgian GP I found the wettest track I’ve ever ridden. As for” From Sim to Reality “, I wanted to prepare myself properly and my engineers made it a real challenge. The approach to the game was really fun. Asphalt, off-road, day, night, chased by a helicopter … in short, I’m ready for the GP that awaits me! “.

Among the simulator scenarios there is also an unlikely challenge with the winner of the Green Jersey of the Tour de France 2022: Wout van Aert. Known for his powerful accelerations and incredible intensity, the Belgian cycling star in the video rallies the mechanics of Oracle Red Bull Racing for an epic pit stop.

“I’m used to being chased, but not by a Formula 1 – said van Aert – Single-seaters tend to be a bit faster…”. (HANDLE).
