Venice-Genoa exchange, Aramu for Candela

(ANSA) – VENICE, AUGUST 25 – Exchange of players between Venice and Genoa. The lagoons have given the long-awaited green light to the transfer of the attacking midfielder Mattia Aramu to Genoa in exchange for the right winger Antonio Candela plus an economic adjustment.

Aramu, 27, moves to Genoa on loan with the obligation of redemption. The Turin playmaker joined Venezia from Siena in July 2019 and has recorded a total of 30 goals and 18 assists in 105 appearances in all competitions over the past three seasons. Aramu was instrumental in the historic promotion of Venezia to Serie A in the 2020/21 season, contributing with ten goals and six assists.

Candela, 22, made 50 appearances from the Under 16 to the Under 20 of the Italian national team, being part of the blue selection that finished second at the 2018 Uefa European Under-19 Championship and fourth at the 2019 Under-20 World Cup.

Purchased in January 2018 from his hometown of La Spezia, Candela was sold by Genoa on loan for the next three seasons. In 2019/20 he wore the shirts of Trapani and Olbia, and then collected 30 appearances (26 as a starter) in 2020/21 in Serie C with Pergolettese and played 27 matches (25 as a starter) with four goals for Cesena in Serie C last season. Candela has signed a three-year agreement, with an option to renew for a further year. (HANDLE).
