Tennis, Us Open; blue scoreboard, Sinner and Berrettini hope

(ANSA) – ROME, AUGUST 25 – The long-awaited draw for the pairings of the main draw of the US Open tennis is a concentration of anxiety and ambitions for Italian athletes.

Without Djokovic there are many to hope. Jannik Sinner ended up in the quarter-final of his long-time rival Alcaraz, but on his debut he finds the modest German Daniel Altmaier. The third round zone is that of the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov. The Polish Hubert Hurkacz is in the box of Lorenzo Musetti, who will return to confront David Goffin, already defeated at Roland Garros in 2021. Matteo Berrettini, on the other hand, has two challenges that are all in all calm in the first two rounds, at least on paper: he will debut against the Bolivian Hugo Dellien, specialized on clay, then he will see it against the Spaniard Pablo Andujar. In the third round, for the Roman, there could be Murray. In the quarterfinals, then, the challenge against Tsitsipas is predictable: the Greek, in the second round, should face Lorenzo Sonego, always if the blue manages to get rid of the Australian Thompson. Finally, Fabio Fognini will see it against the Russian Karatsev: in the eventual second round he finds Nadal. Among the big names, the Australian Kyrgios ends up in the eighth of the n.1 in the world, the Russian Daniil Medvedev. First, however, the derby between ‘kangaroos’ against Kokkinakis in the first round. Medvedev, on the other hand, will make his debut against the host Stefan Kozlov. (HANDLE).
