(ANSA) – ROME, AUGUST 25 – Former footballers return to the stadium as protagonists to talk about the emotions they experienced on the pitch as professional footballers. In all Serie B 2022-2023 matches, a former footballer will have the opportunity to relive and retrace his experiences as an athlete following the match, pre-match and post-match, meeting the players of the two teams.
The project, now in its fourth season, was born from the synergy between AIC and Lega B and so far more than 50 have been sent to the fields.
“We are happy that even in this project the former players can be an important reference for the new generations – commented Umberto Calcagno, President of AIC – demonstrating that professional experience brings with it a wealth of skills useful for post-career”.
“The history of Serie B and the cities that are part of it is made up of a glorious tradition, second to none – the words of Mauro Balata, president of Lega Serie B – Bringing the former players back to the stadiums that saw them as protagonists, means enhancing this wealth that we have decided to share with the players’ association which I thank. “
