(ANSA) – ROME, AUGUST 27 – A record-breaking Liverpool and a clear message to Napoli, the next opponent in the Champions League: the Reds beat Bournemouth 9-0, equaling the record for goals scored in a Premier League match.
Jurgen Klopp’s team overwhelmed Bournemouth on Matchday 4, scoring five goals in the first half and four in the second half. To highlight the two double goals scored by Firmino and Luis Diaz. Elliott, Alexander-Arnold, Van Dijk and Carvalho also scored (the sixth goal came from an own goal by Mepham).
With nine goals at Bournemouth Liverpool equaled Manchester United’s 9-0 win against Ipswich in 1995. United defeated Southampton by the same score last year, while Leicester also won 9-0. in Southampton in 2019. (ANSA).
